Aers brings its digital ecosystem together at new Truckplaza

Drivers who stop along the way want to know right away where to go and how to place an order quickly. With a well-designed digital ecosystem, you streamline that entire customer experience. At the same time, you keep central control over multiple touchpoints on site.

The step to an international location

As an organization grows, so does the need for scalable processes. On July 24, 2026, Aers Truckplaza in Zeebrugge officially opened its doors. This was an important step for the group, as it is the very first Aers location outside the Netherlands. With this step, the partnership with Skippify has been further expanded. For the digital customer experience at this location, Aers once again chose Skippify. The two companies have been working together for some time. Solutions are already being used successfully at the locations in Dirksland, IJzendijke and Oostburg. What once started at those sites is now growing with the organization into Belgium.

A connected digital customer journey

A great customer experience requires more than one digital tool. That is why Aers deliberately chose not to opt for a single standalone digital application in Zeebrugge. At different moments in the customer journey, solutions are used that complement each other perfectly. In concrete terms, multiple systems come together successfully at this location: Smart Ordering, Digital Signage, digital queue communication and Electronic Shelf Labels. These applications work together as one integrated ecosystem. The result is a cohesive environment in which the end user intuitively finds their way. At the same time, daily operations are made easier. Read more about this approach on the page about digital signage for gas stations & petrol.

Smart ordering and up-to-date communication in one place

The ordering experience is a crucial moment in the visitor journey. In Zeebrugge, guests place their orders easily via two order kiosks. This system makes the ordering process clear and efficient. During every order, relevant upsells can be offered at exactly the right moment. As soon as payment is complete, a central order number display supports the digital queue communication. This display tells drivers exactly when their order is ready. In addition, two Digital Signage screens have been installed. These let you show up-to-date communication and specific promotions on site. This combined use of solutions makes customer flow predictable. Central management with electronic shelf labels

At a large location, price communication is often a time-consuming task. That is why several hundred Electronic Shelf Labels have been installed in the Zeebrugge shop. These digital price tags change the way product information is managed on the shop floor. Instead of staff replacing paper tags by hand, you adjust prices digitally. This saves employees valuable time and significantly reduces errors. A price change in the back office is visible on the shelf almost instantly. For drivers, this means they always see the correct price. The use of electronic shelf labels (ESL) brings calm to operations. It also provides clarity for visitors.

One ecosystem for the entire operation

Setting up separate technologies often creates extra administrative work. The real strength of the Zeebrugge location lies in its seamless integration. All digital solutions are controlled centrally from Skippify Suite. This means the various solutions can easily be managed from one place. What’s more, you connect the systems directly to your existing ERP and back-office software. Products, prices and promotions are pulled easily from your existing data sources. Relevant transaction data then flows back to your administration automatically. This reduces duplicate management and significantly streamlines operations. It ensures that digital communication fits seamlessly with existing processes.
